Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Court Purple”

Jordan Brand’s increased emphasis toward the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG this year has been well documented. From the highly acclaimed Bred Toe colorway, to the recently releases collaboration designed by Nigel Sylvester, the sneaker that helped start it all has not disappointed over the last number of months. Keeping that noticeable uptick rolling, the Jumpman has a “Court Purple” variety slated to hit retailers later this month. Sporting a regal purple and black color combination, it features the same color blocking as the aforementioned Bred Toe, with a colorful toebox and black panelling surrounding it for contrast. With other offerings the likes of the “Rookie Of The Year” and the “Sports Illustrated” colors on the horizon, it doesn’t appear that the Jordan Brand has any plans of slowing down production for the 1 any time soon.

With everything from alternate color blocking on models like the “Bred Toes” to pre-distressed pairs like Nigel Sylvester‘s “Jordan Biking Co” and heavily-branded takes like the “Logo Pack,” there’s truly been an AJ1 for everyone over the past 9 months. Now, one of the most highly anticipated pairs of the year is set to drop as the “Court Purple” Jordan 1s are releasing in both men’s and grade school sizes. Featuring a standard black and white base with rich royal purple accents on the toebox, heel, collar, and outsole, the “Court Purple” provides a look that’s both heratage-style and brand-new at the same time.

Taking on a Bred Toe color blocking, this Air Jordan 1 High is highlighted by a vibrant Court Purple which can be seen on the toe box, ankle, heel, tongue tag, and the rubber outsole. The rest of the leather upper has been done in black and white with finishing details being black Swoosh logos, white Nike Air on the tongue, and a white midsole.Dressed in a Court Purple, Sail and Black color scheme. This Air Jordan 1 features Court Purple on the heel, Nike Air tongue label, toe box and rubber outsole. White covers the side panels and midsole, along with Black overlays, tongues and laces.

Vogue x Air Jordan 3 “AWOK”

A main character in a movie that was nominated for two Oscars was inspired by her. She’s been name-dropped multiple times by Kanye West. She’s held the position of editor-in-chief at Vogue Magazine since 1988. Now, she’s getting her own Air Jordan 3 collaboration. Yeah, it’s safe to say that Anna Wintour has got it going on. After a, Air Jordan 1 High Zip complete with Vogue and Wintour detailing dropped in July, the masterful editor is back in the collaborative spotlight, as her two special Jordan 3s are set to release this month.

Arriving in a black and a red, both shoes boast a textured fabric upper with flecked silver detailing, inspired by the impeccable tweed jackets the sartorial legend is known to favor. A rich leather adorns the slimmed-down tongue and heel collar, and a shiny black plastic heel tab — inspired by Wintour’s signature black sunglasses — features a hand-scrawled “AWOK,” the mark Wintour leaves to let her staff know an issue of Vogue is ready to be sent to the printing press. “Edited by Vogue” detailing arrives on the insole and hangtag, and each colorway is rounded off by a two-tone black and sail midsole. For a touch of premium packaging (would Wintour accept anything less?), each pair also comes complete with two branded and signed dustbags — one for each shoe.

To releasing alongside both Air Jordan 1 High Zip colorways, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Winter will also be releasing two Air Jordan 3 AWOK colorways. One comes dressed in “University Red” and the other in a “Black” hue.Inspired by Anna’s signature suits and sunglasses, this Air Jordan 3 features tweed as the primary upper material, and a back heel with the AWOK moniker. Air Jordan 13 “He Got Game”

One of the most revered Air Jordan 13 colorways of all time is based on one of the greatest basketball movies of all time, “He Got Game”. Unsurprisingly, this 1998 classic that starred Ray Allen and Denzel Washington was directed by one of the top Jordan Brand endorsers in history, Spike Lee. Given a monicker the same as the title of the movie, this 13 ushers in all the original details as the pair worn by Jake Shuttlesworth in the movie. Utilizing a white and black color scheme on its tumbled leather upper, True Red acts as a flash of color on the tongue’s Jumpman logo as well as the sneaker’s eye-catching outsole.

Air Jordan 4 NRG “Raptors”

The Air Jordan 4 NRG Raptors is a new colorway on the silhouette this year, but it’s inspired by the classic AJ 7 Raptors, utilizing the Toronto Raptors color scheme. Covered in a Black nubuck throughout the majority of the upper, University Red and Court Purple accents are applied on the eyelets, inner tongue, midsole, and outsole. The Jumpman branding on the tongue has been blacked out in an embossed suede for a premium look, while the speckling on the midsole add some depth to the shoe.

As a nod to the original Air Jordan 7 Raptors colorway, Jordan Brand will be releasing a matching Air Jordan 4 during the spring season.Dressed in a Black, University Red, and Court Purple color scheme. This Air Jordan 4 features a Black suede upper paired with Purple and Red contrasting accents. A speckled midsole and Black and Red rubber outsole completes the design.

Devoid of any affiliation with the Canadian rapper Drake, the Air Jordan 4 “Raptors” has finally received an official release date and is set to touch down next month. Leaked official images of the shoe actually revealed that there were plans for the sneaker to come equipped withe Drizzy’s signature on the tongue tab. Dressed in the same colors as the Air Jordan 7 “Raptors”, this color scheme is not actually inspired by the Team in the North, as that original pair made its debut three years before the Raptors even became a part of the Association. While old school sneakerheads and NBA historians will be stubborn to call these by their “Raptor” monicker, the majority of the world will opt to call them as such. Black nubuck makes up for the vast majority of this sneaker’s real estate, while Court Purple and University Red provide the supporting details. Enjoy another detailed look at the newest Jordan 4 below and mark your calendars for its August 18th release date.
